Mohamed Elbetagi, a senior Muslim Brotherhood official, has been arrested in Egypt by security forces, as they pressed on with a crackdown that has put most of the Islamist group’s top leaders in jail.
Supporters of Egypt’s deposed president Mohammed Morsi vowed more rallies and called for marches on today.
Elsewhere in Egypt, police arrested 28 Islamists, the official MENA news agency reported.
