After the death of Clauda Aderotimi, a European woman who traveled to the U.S for Silicone butt injections, buttocks enhancement safety is a concern. Buttocks enhancement surgery has become a common procedure. A proper butt enlargement  procedure from a plastic surgeon typically costs about $120,000.
Unfortunately, many women who cannot afford plastic surgeon’s fees are resorting to dangerous and illegal silicone butt injections for less than a third of the cost.
Claudia Aderotimi was a 20 –year-old British woman who dreamed of being a Hip Hop star. She wanted to be the next Nikki Minaj, and she thought she needed a curvier figure to help her land roles in rap videos. Aderotimi, like many young women, thought silicone butt injections was the answer to her problems.
Her quest took her from London to the Philadelphia Hampton Inn airport hotel – instead of a plastic surgery suite. She and a friend underwent buttock injections with what they thought was “safe” silicone. Just twelve hours after her hotel room “surgical procedure,” Claudia Aderotimi died after complaining of chest pains due to complications from the procedure.
THE TRUTH ABOUT SILICONE BUTT INJECTIONS
Liquid silicone butt injections are illegal in the United States because they are dangerous. Silicone poses a serious threat because it can get into the bloodstream and become fatal if reaches the heart or lungs according to an article in The Guardian, U.S federal health officials have reported many injuries due to the illegal procedure.
Safe Buttock Augmentation Options
When done properly, butt enhancement surgery is about as safe as breast implants, or any other form of plastic surgery.
GLUTEAL IMPLANTS-For gluteal implants, solid silicone implants are placed inside of a woman’s buttocks just underneath the muscles. The procedure is normally used for individuals who have very little fatty tissue in the buttock area, but it is generally the most drastic and invasive buttock augmentation procedure.
FAT INJECTION- With fat injection, the fat is removed from another area of the body, processed, and then transferred to the buttocks. This option is preferred because the site where the fat is removed (donor site) is treated to a liposuction, and there is no foreign body placed inside of the buttocks. Fat injection is also known as the “Brazilian Butt Lift.” Watch this informative 3 min video which showcases a young woman’s before and after, fat injection surgery with Dr. David Kim of Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery.
No surgical procedure is free of all danger, but plastic surgery has become routine and the daily success far outweigh the horror stories. If you plan to obtain plastic surgery, it is imperative that you find a board certified plastic surgeon.
The person responsible for the death of Claudia Aderotimi is currently the focus of criminal manhunt, her story ended on a sad note, but yours does not have to.
